JJ Dental Practice strives to provide high-quality dental care to our patients. We recently recorded a patient’s visit to our practice, where they discussed their dental concerns with one of our experienced dentists. Dr. Cook provided a thorough diagnosis and recommended a suitable treatment plan for the patient.

The Process of Dental Crown Application
First, we would conduct a thorough examination of your decayed tooth to determine the extent of the decay and assess the health of the surrounding teeth and gums. If a dental crown is the appropriate treatment, we would prepare the tooth by removing any decayed or damaged parts, and shaping the tooth to create a stable base for the crown.
Next, we would take an impression of the prepared tooth and the surrounding teeth using a dental putty or digital scanner. This impression would be used to customize your new dental crown.
Once your customized crown is ready, we would remove the temporary crown and place the permanent crown over the prepared tooth. we would check the fit and adjust the crown if necessary to ensure that it fits properly and does not interfere with your bite or your ability to chew comfortably.
Finally, we would cement the crown in place with a special dental adhesive, and give you instructions on how to care for your new crown. It is important to maintain good oral hygiene, including brushing and flossing regularly and scheduling regular dental check-ups to ensure the longevity of your crown.
